Abundance
by Jackie Woods
The United States monetary deficit is a serious problem. But it is one that we tend to overlook, because there are so many other big issues to draw our emotional focus. It is as if we are trying to keep our heads above emotional water around all that is happening. The mass murders, the looming threat of war, and the loss of jobs are all too close to home ever to let down our emotional guard enough to feel that our financial structure is crumbling.
But we can’t pretend that the U. S. economy is going to just pull itself out of the very deep hole it is in. So what can we do? Our government seems intent on spending more and more and doing less and less to balance the budget. Thus, the national debt keeps increasing. We obviously can’t immediately change the way Congress throws money at whichever world issue comes into awareness.
So, what can we as individuals do? To answer that, let me recount a true happening from my life. My first marriage was to a researcher whose money came from grants. He spent most of his grant money on his research, which meant there was very little left over for the family. So I made do. I asked my neighbor for her children’s hand-me-down clothes. I dressed myself from thrift shops. I decorated from garage sales. And I watched for the grocery store sales.
Then a miracle happened in my life. I stopped praying for what I didn’t have and started meditating on who I was. Specifically, I started sitting in the presence of the divine quality of abundance.
I eventually divorced and started building on who I had claimed myself to be as an abundant, divine creation. That doesn’t mean I won the lottery. Nor did I get a fantastic job. What happened was a change of focus. I knew that exactly what I needed would come to me. And it did. At first, money came through the three jobs I worked until they morphed into one job. Each job had allowed me to claim different qualities of myself. Finally, I had claimed enough of who I am to step into a job that allowed for the full expression of who I had become.
So you don’t need to run for Congress or donate huge sums of money to our very debt-ridden government. But you can begin to live from the abundance of who you are. Every person doing this will help our country to claim abundance.

Thank you for reminding us we already are abundance & we carry our heart qualities to offer to our planet.
Thank you Pat for empowering that truth –Jackie
